Dear POLO,

Chukkas: We had another great day of arena polo last Saturday with 10 players plus our no-nonsence umpire for a three team round robin. Everyone had a great time and there were smiles all around, plus a fair amount of laughter. "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers" - as today is St Crispin's Day and in honor of Henry V, Bedford and ExeterIt was a beautiful fall day, sunny with temperatures in the mid-seventies. The arena footing is great this time of year as it is firm enough that the ball runs very true, like playing on the grass. Our autumn arena chukkas will continue this Saturday the 28th. We will bowl-in at 12:00.
Players "Once more unto the breach, dear friends": If you are playing, please bring white and blue jerseys and sign up online here so we can make up teams and assign horses to those needing them. We have only put signups through Nov. 11th on the website but will continue to add more dates as long as people want to play.

Polo School Update: Our polo school has had another very good year. The school has grown and improved every year and this year was no exception. The school has done a great job introducing new players to the sport we love and gaining us new playing members. This year, the school ran 46 iChukka sessions (on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) including a great four team tournament, Coaching League on Saturdays, 20 OTP sessions including four tournaments, seminars and private lessons. We had 18 students go through OTP including nine that became members. Very importantly, 30 students became playing members this year, and we expect that some of these will be moving into the Friday League and then of course, Sunday polo.

Great credit is due to Lory, Juan MB and Antonio for the huge amount of work making our school such a success, and of course the 10 school horses that patiently worked with the new players...

National Womens Open Arena TournamentCongratulations to Demitra, Anna Winslow and Julia Smith for winning the inaugural National Womens Open Arena Title as Ace Sportswear. Very well done all. More details on the turnamant from the USPA here. Ace Sportswear defeated Bad Ass Polo (Posey Obrecht, Liv Berube, Maddie Grant) in the final. Interestingly, this final is the same teams and the same result as our Womens Tournamant this past season. Could we see another rematch next summer?

Stroud Water Research CenterOur friends and neighbors at the Stroud Water Research Center will be celebrating their 50th anniversary on November 11th. They are hoping that we will join them for the celebration. The invitation can be found here. We hope you will come out and support a very good cause.

Additional information on the work that Stroud Water Research Center does can be found here.
