Abdullah and Tariq Bin Desmal scored a goal apiece while Colombres claimed three for ADCB. For Estee Lauder Polo Team, Naser Al Dhari notched once while Mattar Al Yabhouni scored twice.

“I am very pleased that we could win this match,” said Ahmed Bin Desmal afterwards. “As we suspected it turned out to be a very close and competitive game and it is always great to finish in front.”

ADCB Chief Marketing Officer Martin Scott said: “We are delighted that we have emerged the victors in this polo game and send our thanks and congratulations to our excellent Emirati players, the Bin Desmal brothers as well as their Argentine professional, Oscar Colombres, who have done us proud.

“We may have won the match, but we hope that the real winner today is the fight against breast cancer and the message that Pink Polo sends to the people of the UAE.

Pink Polo was founded in 2010 by Carrie McNeil as a vehicle with which to raise awareness of the positive impact that early breast cancer diagnosis has on survival rates.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UAE and is the second-biggest killer of women in the country. If the disease is discovered and treated at an early stage, 98 per cent of sufferers will survive, yet only 30 per cent of breast cancer cases in the Emirates are diagnosed early.

“I have been really gratified by the levels of support that exist for Pink Polo in the UAE,” said Ms McNeill. “The whole community has really embraced this event in its second year and I would like to thank everybody involved for their hard work in making this year’s Pink Polo event even bigger and better than last year’s launch.

“I truly hope the Pink Polo message of early breast cancer diagnosis and treatment goes out into society as I know that by spreading the word we really can help save lives.

Guests at Pink Polo enjoyed pony and camel rides, falcon and horse shows, Pink nail polish changes and Pink Ribbon body art as well as a skydiving display from Skydive Dubai. Pink Polo was attended by several dignatires including
