Chamber Polo Tournament Set for Will Rogers this Sunday

The 19th annual Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce Polo Tournament will be held on Sunday, September 25, at Will Rogers State Historic Park. Admission is free and the public is invited. Parking is $12.

  The six-team tournament will begin at 10 a.m., with the championship game set for 12:30 p.m.

  Teams will be sponsored by Amafi Estates; City National Bank; Jennifer Lowe (mortgage broker/ private banker); defending champion Perennial Financial Services; the Pacific Palisades Lions Club; and Wells Fargo Private Bank.

  Promoting this popular event (so far) are: ACS Security (divot stomp sponsor), Adam's Fine Wine, A Rental Connection (goal post sponsor), Bonnie Burke, Gift Garden Antiques, Heritage Realty, Botham Plumbing & Heating (pony rides), Caf' Vida (silent-auction gift certificates), eCenter Clinic, Kay 'n Dave's Cantina (silent-auction gift certificates), L.A.   Plus, there's the Special Silent Auction Item: A flight for two on American Airlines to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and four nights at the Holiday Inn.

  Tossing in the game ball before the matches will be Chamber President Greg Wood, Steve Ghysels of Wells Fargo Private Bank, Mr. Palisades 2011 Jack Koplin and Miss Palisades 2011 Daniela Grinblatt.

  Participating polo players will include Andrew Bossom, Bill Davis, Sean Goel, Soheil Goel, Bolko Kissling, Conrad Kissling, Gina Padilla, Domingo Questel, Ardeshir Radpour, Hannah Taylor and Erik Wright.

  Park ranger Mikal Sandoval will sing the national anthem, Al Epstein will serve as the play-by-play announcer, and no one will go hungry, thanks to the popular Argentinean Cardinale Kitchen.

  Free tours of the Will Rogers home will begin at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., and there will be pony rides for children.

  The polo organizing committee is chaired by Jennifer Lowe, assisted by Ramis Sadrieh (Technology for You!), Lynne Pizzia (City National Bank), Dr. Shannon Watson (Vital Force Chiropractic), and Felice Densa (Will Rogers Polo Club).
